Re: quattro-digest V4 #2097

Re: driving lamp mounting on front bumper of 5000TQ

I've had a variety of sizes and shapes of driving lamps mounted on top of
the front bumper of my 86 5000TQ. I've found 5" round lamps, Hella 500 for
ex., to look best when mounted next to stock headlamps, a la Aston Martin.
It's important to cut a steel spacer to insert your mounting bolt through
so you don't deform the plastic bumper cover when you torque down on the
bolt. Also, as a bonus the round plastic bumper plugs will nicely seal the
mounting hole should you decide to take your lamps off later on.
