In the last couple of years I've been on 3 listservers, first when I was
getting my mail thru CompuServe and now at this address, and the (low,
tolerable) level of spam has been pretty constant. I vote coincidence.

Such a law was passed in Washington state (where I live). Other states, I
dunno. It remains to be seen how it'll be enforced on out-of-state spammers.
