My ex-wife had a sedan like this (manual 5spd 5k) that was a decent car. The
motor met a simular fate...her "boyfriend" ran it into a rock which holed the
oil-pan. This at around 220k miles old. The kept driving the car for another
two weeks with rags stuffed in the hole and sometimes even adding oil as
required ;-) (Please, don't ask...) Car didn't *want* to die...kept going but
after a few thousand miles did get a nasty knock.
