Re: Audi Coupe

Hey Joe!

I'll go ahead and throw out the first salvo...

You'll have to clarify your request for information somewhat.

Audi offered two-door coupes for a long time (~1971?) and many variations exist. Because you're in the US I'll (very) generally segment this. Of course, this info is meant only to narrow down your search and is certainly not meant as a technical piece ;-)

Although I listed an early 70's date for two doors (Fox?), the more common Audi coupes are as such.

- '81~85 Audi Turbo Quattro Coupe
- All wheel drive sports car
- Referred to as "ur quattro" on this list. "Ur" is short for "original" or first in German.

- '82~87.5 Audi Coupe GT
- Similar in appearance to urq, but lacking flaring and turbo engine (remember, this IS general info)

-'90~'91 Audi Coupe Quattro
- More modern appearance based on "90" series cars.
- Sleeker, but less mean...no turbo, but 20v motor.

This ought to help get your questions started. And because you're a local SF guy, any number of us have each of the models listed and I'm sure would be willing to help you make the decision at our next meeting / get together.
