I thought conventional wisdow was to never over-rev an engine that is not
under load; much worse than while driving. OTOH, on a dyno, it is under load,
no? And I regularly make sure I use all of my tachometer on my 3B (well, up
to 7000; I paid for it all, might as well use it). Try not to hit the fuel
cutoff...
