About 12-15 feet sounds about right. If you need new batteries, you can
get them at your local grocery store for $0.50 - $1.00 each, and there
are four of them. I would not go to the dealer for this. To put them
in, take the key off the keyring and the back of it just slides off.

14mpg? Ouch! That doesn't sound very good. I think that you should
get at least 18mpg average. How do you drive? Does the car spend a lot
of time in second gear? Also, see if you can verify that the 15K mile
service was done--they should change the air filter there. If the car
struggles a bit and then shifts down into first or second gear when
you're going up hills, you could have bad oxygen sensors. The best part
is, whatever the problem is the solution is free! If your dealer
doesn't cooperate, see if there's another dealer close by.

Good luck, you've got a great car!
