How hot is "hot?" These cars typically run a little farther up the scale
than we 'murcans are used to. This is another one that's well documented
in the archives. My car (q) will go up to between the second and third
line from the top of the water temp gauge. The fan doesn't come on until
~the third from the top.
As far as the heat from the center vents: check the heater control
valve (black plastic, ~under the battery on 5/8" lines, has a lawnmower
"throttle cable" going to it) to ensure it's adjusted so that the valve
really closes all the way when the dash control is pushed to "cold." In
the fall, check to ensure it opens all the way when pushed to "hot." (my
valve has a little more movement than the dash lever. YMMV)
