V8 electronic climate control

The electronic climate control has gotten erratic on my V8 with 153k
miles. First the blower motor stopped operating (no response when I
pushed the high or low button), then the outside temp display took to
reading a constant 48 degrees F, now it's so erratic I don't know if
it's going to heat or cool, so I just leave it off.

Any suggestions as to a plan of attack? If I simply replace the entire
unit, is that likely to solve my problem?
