Very good advice, I updated my web site with the Specific 1991 200TQ 20V
instructions for the OUTPUT tests, they are unique and rather clever for
the 20V turbo. The Bentley manual does not explain the Fault Code
retrieval or the Output tests using the jumper wire and LED. It only
explains these tests using the VAG1551/2 Scan Tool.
I tried using the LED/jumper wire for the fault code retrieval and for
the Output tests on the 1991 200TQ 20V I am working on and it does work
just fine....
Briefly:
After initiating the OUTPUT tests, the throttle must be opened and
closed to test the fuel injectors.....in the following sequence 1,2, 4,
5, 3, injector #1 will click 5 times, then open and close the throttle
again, injector #2 will click 5 times, etc until the last injector #3 is
tested, then it will switch to testing the ISV valve....then use jumper
wire to swithc to testing the carbon canister, then use the jumper again
to test the WG solenoid (Test #8) as Phil correctly described.

has the details....
