Drivers Window

Please Help,
Having recently replaced all 7 window switches, I'm am appalled at the
fact that the drivers window stopped working.  Two days of heavy rain,
and then kaput.  Not sure if rain/window is related.  I don't think it
is the regulator, because this morning the thing was working.  Lunch
time, it stopped again.  

I cleaned the NEW switches.  In the process, I pulled the wiring out a
little (2 inches), and all the windows stopped.  Put it back in, they
work (except drivers).  My mechanic said it was probably the wires in
the door were worn from opening and closing.

What is wrong and how do I fix it?
