In my Haynes manual, they claimed that any attempts to make such a tool
were unsuccessful. It might be worth enquiring at a main dealers how
much the genuine tool is. When I bought my engine locking tool, (2079
or 2083), it was buch cheaper than I had thought it would be.
The strut dismantling tool will save you LOTS of time. On the other
hand, I usually welcome the opportunity to dismantle the strut
completely so that I can check for wear etc.
