Re: Trunk shocks for 4kq
I just ordered some from BLAUfergnugen for 24.95 ea. My old ones were
original(!)no wonder they were not working. The ones I took off had
a band shaped spring in a groove right over the mounting ball. To
remove I slipped a small screw driver under the band and twisted. The
band came loose and the strut could be lifted off the ball with very
little effort. It was not necessary to remove the rear seat. I have
not recieved the struts from BLAU yet and hope they use the same type
of fastening spring. I have seen similar struts that used a wire spring
that could not be removed. Struts with that type of spring can only be
removed by prying the whole strut (using considerable force). Maybe
those require removal of the rear seat.
