California Emissions requirements, you're going to pay the $300. There may
be a loophole given the fact that the car has already been transferred into
the state for some length of time ... you might want to check the DMV rules
for that (BTW, the AAA has a lot of useful DMV handouts in their offices).
Perhaps you can make a bit of it back by turning in those folks that live in
California and keep their Oregon plates to save on registration fees.
Theres a home on wheels I've seen parked out in front of a house I pass
regularly for as long as I can remember ... with Oregon plates.
