I do believe that it would be a 016 'box. I spoke to someone today and
he says it can be done, but "it will work differently" (I need to
clarify "differently" tomorrow). The next question is how far back
in time can I go to find a 'box that will "plug in"? Another question
is flywheel, I assume Audi did not re-engineer the flywheel between
the 5k/100 016 boxed cars and the manual 1990 200, can't seem to find
info to state otherwise (no parts fiche at hand for the cars).
Another question is whether the auto tranny and manual tranny for the
FWD 200 share the same speed sensor part? Again no fiche at hand for
this (or at least no fiche for the manual and no reader at hand!).
If it all boils down to simply an adapter fitting into the spiral cable
mount point then I'll be a happy man (by $900!) :)
Thanks.
