Oh my, testy aren't we!

(Original message sent from another computer which was just "upgraded" to
Windows 95 and obviously isn't working quite right just yet - message
totally lost in cyberspace - sounds to me like all the old time Lucas
designers are now writing code for Microsoft!!)

Phil Payne says (more or less) that "brute force and ignorance" are the
American way, and that we Yanks always seem to be a few millenia behind the
learning curve.

Oh my, testy aren't we!

I must remind our UK friend(s) that we've only been here for a little over
200 years, so could you please cut us just a little slack (wink wink nudge
nudge). I mean I know you guys have dining room furniture that is older
than our whole country (I've seen it!), but bear in mind that you guys have
been playing "nation" probably five or ten times as long as we have.

During the bicentennial celebrations in 1976, there was a contest to find
the best slogan for the event. My favorite was "America - we ain't perfect,
but we ain't done!"

Ummm, yeah, Audi stuff:

It is my understanding that UK lights are the same as Eurolights except
that UK lights are drive on left while Euro lights are drive on right (like
in the US). Hence the beam pattern, as established by the lens, is different.

Is the difference the lens, or is the entire assembly different? Is the
lens held on with spring clips, or is it glued on and non-removable like
the US 5000 series non-turbo models? ("Aero" lights.)

Idea is to obtain UK-spec lights (which seem to be more-or-less available),
remove clips and change the lens to the Euro type (lenses costing about
$40), and thus arrive at Euro lights here in the US for a reasonable price
. . .
