Re: Shayne AVERAGED 108 mph?!

OK, from Duesseldorf to Breman we set the cruise control at 105mph and on
the hour reset the trip, one hour later 100 miles on the trip. That was
easy. Harder was Duesseldorf to Calais when we realised we had forgotten the
time and had to catch the last ferry, 3 hours to cover 270 miles, much of
which is busy motor way, and the last stretch normal road. The thing to
remember on German roads, is that if you are travelling at 120mph, and a
brit with a caravan doing 50 pulls out in front of you, it is the equivalent
of stopping dead from 70mph. The most fun though was Edinburgh to Kent 420
miles, 7 hours, one tank of petrol! (half of this is either windy roads or
London!). And cars, well, all before the Urq. First trip Mitsi Shogun,
second '89 Coupe 2.3 quattro (early non cat model), third 84 TWD coupe
(early UK carb model)
