unbolting control arms revisited
Not long ago at all, someone asked about how to unbolt the control
arms on his car. There were lots of suggestions, but I didn't bother
to take note of any, because I've always had good luck with a 17mm
wrench held at an angle inside the subframe hole.
However, my experience with this up until now has been with California
cars. My 4ksq is a Colorado car, and my method is showing it's
weaknesses.
I tried the search engine, but I must be q-list archive search impaired,
because I've never had luck find anything. Everybody uses different
terms to describe things (A-arms, control arms, wishbone, etc.). I try
to make the search broad (I searched on "how", because I thought the
poster asked "how" to unbolt the arms) but it was unsuccessful. It
almost
seems like it's an incomplete search.
I did come across an post about a homemade control arm bushing
puller/pusher,
which I took note of.
So, now I'm asking. What were some of the methods and/or tools used to
remove the control arms from the subframe, on a 4ksq or C-GT?
Thanks,
Ken
