Blowin' fool pump fuses

Posting this for a friend of mine who's not currently on the list.

The patient in question is a 1987 4kq, which started blowing fuel pump
fuses yesterday afternoon.

Initial diagnosis was that fuel pump that had been screaming for two
years now had finally bit the big one.

Replacement this morning (NAPA, $174.99; pretty impressive for a Sunday
morning!) with a fresh Bosch pump resulted in the car starting and
idling much better but it's still blowing fuses.

Any suggestions that I might be able to pass along?  He's not really
looking forward to expending 8-10 fuses to get to work tomorrow
morning!  ;-)
