V8Q Engine Mounts, Obs.

Observations:

I've finally gotten around to ordering the motor mounts
for my '90 V8Q last week. These are a dealer only item
so I held off as long as I could, at $127 each I could
live with the vibration until the last few weeks when
it got worse.

The part number for the engine mounts is: 441 199 381K,
the "K" on the end means "silber" colored boot, and an
"F" on the end means a "swartz" colored boot, or should
I say coloured, since the motor mounts are made in Avon,
England. At least it's not an electrical part.

Upon inspecting the mounts, they looked awfully familiar,
so I ordered (fully refundable) a pair of Audi Turbo
aftermarket motor mounts, part number: 443 199 382.
The bottom of the turbo mount also lists 443 199 381(L)
and (C) as possible part numbers depending on the
dab of paint applied to it. This mount had a dab of
green paint signifying it's the "xxx 382 gruen" mount.

I measured both mounts with a micrometer, and the ONLY
difference I noticed was that the turbo engine mount
was a bit higher than the V8Q mount. Anyone ever
tried swapping the mounts? I'll attempt to install
them and see what happens.

Time to work on an interchange manual for the car, my
friend at the Audi dealer tells me that the "V8 program"
seems to be getting worse on parts distribution. Anyone
know of an aftermarket bomb that fits the beast?

Yugo distributor rotors and Harrison AC components
have X referenced so far, maybe V8Q'ers should be
compiling a list?
