V8Q Woes

Listers- After two months of smelling burnt oil, I decided to fix the bad
breather hose on my 1990 V8. While I was in there, I checked my distributor
caps since the car has 137K miles on it. Heck, why not change the sparkplug
wires too! The local Audi dealer informed me that Audi doesn't stock
distributor caps or rotors,  so you must buy the two new distributors.To make
matters worse,the sparkplug wires must be bought individualy at $100 apiece!!
Tell me this isn't so. After that shock, I was afraid to ask how much a
distributor cost. Does anyone know a way around this nonsense?? I love this
car, but I am getting tired of Audis lousy support for their products!! BTW
can someone explain how to access the archives and/or vendor lists. TIA
