I had the same thing two weeks ago with my '87 90q. Pushing the trip reset
button a couple of times returned function of both odo and tripmeter.
I believe that the functioning of the odo is somehow connected to that of
the tripmeter- if the tripmeter wasn't reset correctly, the gears will
'jump' and the odo also won't register.
Of course, if you have the computer, none of this applies.
