Fuel Pump Failure mode

Since I'm going to Pikes Peak next week, and am most likely driving my
200q, I've been wondering about my Fuel pump. It buzzes on occassion, but
other than that it's been working like a champ. I don't think it's ever
been replaced also.

Anybody know what the failure mode is for it? I've even considered throwing
one in to the trunk with my tools just in case. But if I'm gonna do that, I
may as well throw in the entire Bentley set, throw in a spare turbo, and
throw in god knows what else.

Any comments?

Timing belt was replaced (with water pump) approximately 40K ago (or less),
recently the 200 has had a new alternator, a new P/S pump, new fuel lines,
new brake cables, wheel bearings, a samco IC hose, new oil lines, a new
starter, new MC, New SC, new throttle position switch, etc.

It'll have a new rack, new bomb, and new struts before I leave. (and an
alignment).

What should I check before I leave that *could* fail and leave me stranded
somewhere? Of course, many things could fail, but what is *likely* to fail
on such a lengthy journey.
