Re: 93 90S 2.8 v-6

David....Yes, there is a tray. I solved a similar problem in my 86 4kq. I
don't know the details of how your 93 90S a/c is constructed, but I'm sure
there is a tray and the following may help. You may be in the early stages
of a bellybutton fuzz crisis:

This is what happened to me....The footwell on the passenger side of my car
filled with enough water to rise about a half inch above the knap of the
carpet. That is several quarts of water. This was my second clue that I had
an a/c problem. The first was very poor cooling by the unit, and water
droplets coming out the vents. All this happened over about 3 days.

My evaporator and its collection tray are located behind the passenger-side
glove box. A drain runs from the collector tray to the firewall, about 4
inches from right edge of the center console. At the firewall, the drain
plunges horizontally through the firewall and turns downward as it emerges
into the engine compartment.

My drain had a filter built into it, at the firewall, (to keep insects from
climbing up the drain and entering the cabin?) The filter was really just a
set of rubber flaps the opened only in an outward direction, pushed by the
pressure of water coming down the drain.

A ball of bellybutton fuzz had collected on the evaporator side of the
drain, and it blocked the flaps from opening, thus causing a buildup of
water in the collector tray, which overflowed and soaked my carpeting with
quarts of distilled water.

I discovered all this by peeling back the carpeting that covers the
vertical wall of the passenger footwell. This exposed the drain, which I
detached, pulled back from the motor compartment, and massaged with my
fingers to dislodge the 'restriction.' Being unsuccessful at the
dislodgement, I turned the drain tube inside out and discovered the filter
and its bellybutton fuzz. I enucleated the filter with a pair of scissors,
leaving the walls of the drain intact. Then, as they say, reassembly was
the reverse of the above.

After removing about 25 pounds of (soaking wet) sound absorbing insulating
mats from my floorboards, I dried out the carpeting, substituted new
insulation, and now enjoy a dry floor.

In short..you might have a clogged drain.I also suspect a diagnosis of
acute bellybutton fuzz.
