High output lights
After all the extensive mucking around on my car, the lights were put
back and aligned 'per spec'.
I noticed a _HUGE_ difference between the beam pattern of the new
headlight and the 150000 mile one - so I ordered a new lens for the
old one and fixed that problem.
Yesterday evening, after 150 miles at speed in the dark, I was a little
unhappy. Granted, I managed to spot the unlit truck doing a three-point
turn on the A5 near Daventry (no, I'm not joking) but the overall effect
was less that ideal.
I discovered that the H1s are set on the same 1% decline as the H4s.
There seems little point, since the H1s are never on when anyone else
is in sight - they will damn well dazzle anyway, so why point them
politely? They're now set dead level.
In passing - one of my H1s is _much_ better focussed than the other.
Bulb manufacturing tolerances? I'll swap the bulbs tomorrow and see.
