Blue Diamond 9004 bulbs

I tried a "Blue Diamond" 9004 headlight bulb in my '86 4kq. The bulb was
visibly dimmer than the plain one on the right side. I measured the
light output with my Gossen Luna Pro F lightmeter and it showed that the
blue bulb was indeed two stops dimmer than the regular bulb. (in the
visible spectrum anyway, which is all I care about.) That is only 1/4
the brightness. I took the blue bulb back to the store and got a plain
9004 bulb and it was 1/6th of a stop brighter than my old 9004. The blue
bulbs get a thumbs down.
