Wheels, hubs, and brakes

I have an 84 4ksq with the stock 4x108-lug rotors.  I want to
change to a 4x100 setup for the greater selection of wheels
and I want to know how to do it.  Can I use the ones from a
non-quattro, including the rear drum brakes, and if so, would
the emergency brake be a pain to hook up?  Is it simpler to
get Volkswagen rotors/brakes transplanted?  Would later 4000
rotors fit?  Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I couldn't find much
in the archives.
