I had this problem years ago with my '87 5ktq wagon. There is a "time delay
relay" which controls the interior lights which failed in my car. At the time
this relay was very expensive (I didn't have the "Carlsen Connection" then...)
at something like 75 bucks. So, I tore into the relay to see what made it
tick. The "relay" contains a printed circuit board which I resoldered (BTW, I
just fixed the overdrive relay in our ovlov DL wagon the same way a few weeks
ago). Problem never re-surfaced, fix was free except for a little time. HTH
