My guess is that the tach is displaying 4/5 of what the actual
engine speed is.  Both tachs should take their reading from the negative
terminal of the coil, so your coil is sending 4 pulses for every rpm
when the tach expects 5...hence 4/5.

Not sure about the speedo.  After talking with Tony Lum, I gather
the speedometers are geared for a particular transmission type.  If
the 4K speedometer and CGT speedometer are geared differently, then
you are likely to be off by that difference.
