Hello and some questions
Hello,
I am new to the list - I have never owned an Audi - But have been in love
with them since I drove an 86 4000CS Quattro (or something to that effect)..
>From there on I have "leased" the car for $5 a year from a friend up until
it was wrecked by someone last year (in repair now..purchased back from
insurance co.).
That same friend purchased a 1990 Audi V8 Quattro a couple days ago (from
a dealer here who took it on trade, it has 56k miles, perfect int. & ext.,
new tires, ect.. for $5,300 - from what I see - this is good).. We (I say
we as he buys it I drive it...) took the car to our Porsche mechanic and he
changed fluids and brakes and such..
My first impression of driving the car (automatic tranny) was it is
amazing.. Very stable, powerful (is it just me or does most of it's
acceleration come at the upper part of the speedo?), a real sleeper..Pulled
up next to a Vette in the rain and embarrased him..He just sat there and
spun his tires all day.
Question #1 - Does this car come with a manual transmission? If it does -
Where can I get one?
Question #2 - Is there anything we need to look out for on the car? What
goes bad on these cars?
Question #3 - The radio is saying "SAFE" on it - The radio manual is
missing (the dealer says that the detailers threw it away) and we don't have
the 4 digit code - How can we get it to use the radio?
Moving along - I am interested in a Turbo Quattro Coupe... Something low
miles (under 80k?) made around 1990. Any thoughts on these cars? I drove
one and want one now - What are there flaws? Anything I should watch for
when looking? Anyone have one for sale (I am in Florida)?
Thanks - I look forward to learning alot about these cars..
