Re: 90Q
According to Audi parts the 20 valve only was available in the US in the 90
Quattro. the 10 valve was in the front drive 90 and the 80 and 80Quattro

Assuming you're referring to the V 6's, they seem to be having problems that
we just didn't have with the 5 cyl, so I'm beginning to wonder about the long
haul longevity.
$head gaskets, they have a history of leaking oil into the valley, never a
problem with the 5 unless drastically overheated. $750
$oil consumption, never a problem unless run without oil. some haven't been
solved yet. $2500 rings
$water pumps siezing or sometimes the idler/tensioner siezing prior to 60 k in
some instances(we've had 2)causing the demise of the t/belt and therefore some
of the valves, very rare in the 5 $1500
$$(there are 2) catalytic converters, never a problem before 5yrs/ 50k and
seldom until well over 100k and then relatively easy to replace and not overly
expensive in the after market. $900 each from Audi, hack job $150 each
Every thing else seems ok so why not put the 5's back in, let us turbo 'em and
have some fun. you really can't even do much about upgrades with these v 6's.
