weird 4kq clutch

OK, thanks for all the advice on the clutch.  I was rooting around today
checking it out and made the following observations:

1)  The Audi dealer's insitence that I don't have a hydraulic clutch is very
disconcerting....because as you all know, I certainly do.

2)  I have never known a car that has a combined brake/clutch fluid resovoir.

3)  The brake fluid level is _really_ low.

4)  My brakes are getting squishy.

5)  There is no sign of leaking anywhere around the clutch master cylinder


So, given all of that, I am led to suspect the slave cylinder is going bad.

Is it still possible that I have a leak in the brake system that is causing
me to lose DOT3 and that is affecting the slave?

If I do have to replace the slave cylinder, what is the proper method for 
bleeding?
