No Fuel/Temp Gauges!!!

Interesting problem in my fiancee's 1990 80 automatic.  While the rest
of the instrument cluster seems to function properly, the fuel and temp
gauges do not work at all.  When she pointed it out to me, I checked all
the fuses to no avail.  I did notice, however, a little light red
capacitor on the driver side floorboard rated 23 VAC and 3,3 uF    X  9.

Not being an electrical engineer, I'm not sure where this came from.
Could it have actually fell down from the inst. cluster to the floor?
If so, where can I get a replacement capacitor?  Radio Shaft?  I'm sure
Audi would want to sell me an entire whatever this came out of.

Sof, if anyone knows where this may have come from, or what else it
might be that is causing my/her problem--your help would be appreciated!
