The U.S. Version of this car doesn't seem to rev QUITE this high, but the 3spd does
beg for an overdrive!

Same here.  This car won't win any stoplight battles.

You didn't mention what size the tires were?!  Are they stock size, or have they
been replaced with a lower/higher profile set.  This is usually the root of speedo
problems.

At least the trans. has already been replaced.  I had to do it to mine--$2000!
