Methinks you have almost solved your security
'system' Phil. I would avoid the Shepherd as I
have three friends with them and all (canines)
have developed hip problems by the time they were
eight. You want one that likes the great
outdoors. In our case a water spaniel (Irish).
Medium size, brown curly hair, super disposition.
Ours lived to be 21 and I can say there were more
tears on Peg's passing than...another story. A
limited territory dog, won't harrass the passer's
by, just don't step into the territory...at
night. Bring them in when the weather's inclement
(doesn't seem to bother them, 'er indoors idea) or
if there is a full moon (fer sure).
