RE: 4kq diff stuff

I've got a used rear diff from an 84 4kq (diff lock is the early rotating
shaft type) sitting in my basement. A plus: It has a new side seal ($80
plus labor) in it. Only drawback is an ever-so-slight whine in 5th gear at
60 - 70 mph when between a coast and loaded conditon.

I bought a used one to swap out the original, hoping to cure a clunk
(acutally a bad subframe bushing), and didn't feel like swapping it back
after it did not cure the problem. Also didn't want to try to return the
used one to the place I haggled down to $250. If interested, e-mail me
directly at ecschott@earthlink.net
