This is getting ridiculous . . .
Found in gift shop in St. Augustine, FL yesterday:
Nice little model of a 93'-ish 100 wagon, white, not quattro, about 5 1/2"
long, die cast metal, tailgate and two front doors open, seat backs fold
forward, made in China (where they are currently making real ones, too),
and paid $4.00 for it - least expensive Audi anything I've ever bought.
Got it home - it has a TRANSMISSION PROBLEM! Rolls backward but not
forward. Just like the real ones! Took it apart (requires special tool #
VAG - 0002-456-421A, green dot, on back order for next 350 years)
(otherwise known as cheap Radio Shack jeweler's screwdriver), snapped gear
back into place, re-assembled, it's fixed.
Sunroof inop, too.
Now I know models are supposed to be faithful to the originals, but don't
you think this is carrying things a bit far?
Confused (and I'm not even near Bucksnort!)
