I just replaced mine.  I didn't realize how loud it was until I put
the new one in.  It is amazing what ones' senses get accustomed to.

There is an access plate in the trunk.  It is under the carpet up on
the hump at about center-line.  The procedure is straight forward.
You need to remove the lock-ring to gain access.  I used a screwdriver
and light tapping with a hammer.  You'll see what I mean.

Couple of cautions:

o Disconnect the battery!!!
o Careful with the fuel level sender/float unit.  It's pretty fragile.
o Make sure you are below 1/4 tank.
