Rust repair (87 4kq)
Okay ... being an Illinois car, my 87 4kcsq has a few spots of surface
rust in all the usual places :
leading edge of hood
above rear bumper
etc...
now, is it worthwhile to fix these things? How would I go about doing so
for the long haul. I have experience in this sort of repair, but it
involved more bondo (ugh) than I care to remember (VW Beetle...)
since I have done all that work personally, I wondered if shops do this
sort of thing without gouging people for $$$. It really us just a few
spots that I'd like touched up to make my car nice and pretty again! :)
My assumption is that if I do the prepwork and have someone else paint, I
can save some $$$. So, does this entail sand, treat, prime?
Just getting some ideas out of my head as I haven't spent $$$ on the Q in
a while :)...
ps> any chicago-area listers want to suggest a body shop?
