Re: 4kq charging problems
I probably would not change the complete alternator. The only parts that
commonly fail in these are the voltage regulator/brush set. this is one
assy. held into the back of the alt. with two screws. This piece is common
to almost all bosch units and is usually available from any good import
parts wharehouse for about $35.00. Alot cheaper than a complete unit.
Warning, the two screws have a habit of seizing into the housing, spend
some time and be carefull about removing them. If you are not able to find
the part try a Mercedes Benz dealer (no joke), at our dealer we stock them
for the old 123-chassis cars and I think list is about $40.00. Good Luck.
