Re: How do you change the Coolant??

Well good start, The engine drain plug is in the most inaccessable spot
on the engine. It is on the driver side at the back of the engine in a
recess facing straight up. The area it is in looks like a tube cast into
the edge of the oil pan. The plug is an 8mm allen and to get it out you
need a allen sockety almost 12" long with a ball style end to allow for
misalignment. At the dealer this is a special tool we use for changing the
knock sensors on the V6, we use it for everything and anything. There is
an o-ring seal on the plug and should be replaced at the same time. Good
Luck, I do this all the time and if you don't know how it can be rather
time consuming. I also recomend after draining and flushing that you
refill with synthetic anti-freeze that is both eviromentally friendly and
does a better job at controlling corrosion.
