I was part of that thread.  Yeah, the foam backing rots so bad that
you are gluing a rotten foundation.  It is not the glue that lets go
but rather the deteriorated foam.  I pulled the whole shell out and
had it recovered for $110 at a local upholstery shop.  Not the exact
same color/texture of the material but close enough for me.

A new headliner is a dealer only and even with list discounts (Clair,
Carlsen,etc) the price was a bit over $400.

I'll look for some old posts.  Myself and Randy Paquette corresponded
off list about this a bit.  He actually has put the headliner back
in.  Me, well, no not exactly.  Maybe this weekend ;)
