I lived with a bad bomb for probably 2 years. The only symptoms I had was
weaker than normal braking. I knew it was a bad bomb by performing the
"Q-list bomb test". Start the car....run it for a bit. After shutting the
ignition off, you should get 20-30 soft presses on the brake pedal before
it becomes stiff.
Also upon sudden braking the light will go on indicating a bad bomb.
The only time I saw the brake idiot light come on was when I lost my pump
and/or reservoir levels were low, never on for entended periods after start
up.
Try the "Q-list bomb test".
