Oh yeh, the ol' "lookup from time to time" problem.  :)

I hadn't thought the sampling rate would be so slow (0.5 sec), so that
definitely could limit its use for acceleration timing.

I gather that your CC readout was pretty accurate directly in kph and did
not  need a "correction" of 12-15 kph added to bring it to a true speed.
This may mean that my speedo is much more optimistic than I had thought (I
had estimated it was about 3-4 mph too high at 75). Hmmmm. I'd better have
a closer look at my speedometer.
