Tight to steering arm?

My 300ZXTT wheels fit tighter than that. 16x8.5 with 35mm offset and
245/45-16 tires. The edge of the tire was less than 3mm from the steering
arm. I figured it wouldn't work since the tire deflects on cornering.
However, those D40M2s have such stiff sidewalls, they don't deflect
enough to touch the steering arm. I checked very gradually and very
carefully :-)
