Another one bites the dust :*(
Well, I fell off the face of the earth and have now returned...
... wish I could go back after this evenings happenings...
My 1990 Coupe Quattro was involved in an accident, and is totalled.
My friend was driving another friend to college this evening.
He was, shall we say, "exercising the chassis" on a highway on-ramp.
He entered into the corner much too fast, got into a four wheel drift,
and hit the median curb,
flipping my beloved Coupe 3 times. (Can't help but shed a tear)
He was fine, except for a scratch on his foot (he was wearing sandals)
The friend in the passenger's seat had some gashes, scrapes and some
glass embedded in his head,
but is otherwise fine.
I haven't yet seen the car, but those who have were flabbergasted at the
general lack of damage to the passenger cabin. The driver door still
opens, but not the passenger door.
The driver and the passenger both acknowledge the supreme saftey of this
car.
In addition, the driver attributes his lack of minor injuries to the OMP
four point harness which held him firmly in position during the
accident.
I will take pictures of the Coupe tomorrow,
until then, you may email me at lagemann@mail4.bc.edu
good night,
Ramana
