S4 Performance Brake Options

I spent the weekend on the track at Mosport in my 94 S4 (IA chipped). I
must say it was amazing - the feeling of coming over the hill into turn 2
and driving at the apex under full throttle in 4th gear is amazing. I have
a new respect for Quattro.

The weekend quickly showed a need to do some serious brake upgrades. I
was running stock rotors all round and I installed a set of KVR pads on
the front before going to the track.

As I'm sure many of you have guessed the KVR pads chewed the stock rotors.
After about 20 laps the rotors were scorched and seriously groved -
although they didn't warp. No one at the track had ever seen anything like
it. The general brake fad was also very bad. The stock rotors are so soft
that by the time I got home from the track, in an hour of stop and go
traffic, the old rotors had polished themselves back into something far
more reasonable (although still quite bad).

I'm interested in brake upgrades for the track that can be done on the
cheap (i.e. I don't want to spend the big bucks for the Hoppen kit). I'm
considering a set of Performance Friction front pads and rotors for track
use only and running the KVRs with some new rotors on the street (I'd
likely keep the rear brakes stock).

Comments? BTDT?

What about fluid? The stock Audi stuff doesn't seem all that great either.

Thanks,
Dwayne
