3B Starts poorly

Hi to all

A west coast friend of mine is looking for some ideas.  His 3B (in a 4000)
has started doing some weird stuff.  Starting COLD it idles great.  But if
it is run and you to start it hot it will not idle un assisted.

He has to put his foot on the go pedal for 10-30 sec and the car runs well.
 He has ohmed everything and even switched sensors from a working 91 200.
No luck, any ideas??  He has consulted with Ned on this and still has not
found the problem.
