I am currently running Hawk HPS (high performance street) pads in front
of my 4kq (they aren't available for the rear). It's a daily driver
with ocasional driving school use. They work fine and seem to be rotor
friendly, and don't generate a lot of dust. They still require a little
warm up before they really begin to grab, but is much better than the
MetalMasters I used to run. Those were downright scary the first stop
on cold humid mornings. I haven't used the Porterfield or Ferrodo pads,
so I couldn't compare, but Hawk does have several compounds from the
mild ones I use to the race Hawk Blues that will get your brakes glowing
bright orange!! HTH
