there is a breather at the highest point of the casing.
good luck getting to it without dropping the diff.
this is a fairly major job, especially if you are dealing with rust.
at that point, the seals are fairly simple.
if you drop the diff, make sure you also replace the diff mounts,
cvj/flange seals and e-brake cables.
vacuum line replacement is also pretty cheap and easy in this state.
