The crankshaft main and rod journal bearings use separate shells that are
inserted into the block and rods.  If a crankshaft is reconditioned you can
get undersized journal bearings to compensate for the smaller diameter of
the crank.  The journal bearing for the camshaft is machined into the
aluminum head itself. There are no separate bearing shells.
